Popular Book Store, one of the oldest names in books trade in Chandigarh, was founded by Late Sh. KIshan Chand Arora in the year 1956 after crossing over from Dera Gazi Khan in Pakistan at the time of Partition. Started with only Rs. Two thousands and one employee and not knowing how far will he be able to take this venture in this still to develop city. However it was not long before he started to gain confidence of the people by his fair business practices and competitive prices. What was started with a handful of customers soon became a household name in the city and its surroundings areas. The store which had only a few books when it started, became the supplier of books to a number of schools and colleges of the city and adjoining areas and became a household name in the process. Today after 50 years of operations we are the largest supplier of school and college books in the tricity of Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali and also the adjoining states of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, enjoying patronage of thousands of students from Nursery to University level. People coming to us often say that when they were studying they used to buy books from us, then their children and now it is their grandchildren whom they accompany to our store. So we can very proudly say that we are serving the third generation of our customers and helping them to graduate into Doctors, Engineers, IT Professionals, Scientists, Chartered Accountants and Civil Servants etc. Our field ranges from School book to College books, Library Supplies to Institutional Sales, School and Offices Stationery Drawing and Art Material, Story Books and Religious Books and many more allied products.
